The Cavity Insulation Guarantee Agency (CIGA) provides independent 25 year Guarantees for cavity wall insulation undertaken by approved installers. It is an independent agency with its own administration and secretariat.
CIGA was established in consultation with the government’s Energy, Environment and Waste Directorate (a division of DETR) to provide householders with an independent, uniform and dependable guarantee, reflecting both the proven performance and the reliability of cavity wall insulation over several decades.
The period of guarantee is 25 years from the date of installation. CIGA guarantees that any defect in materials or workmanship in connection with the installation by a member installer of the customer’s cavity wall insulation, shall be rectified without charge to the customer, subject to compliance with the terms and conditions set out in the Guarantee Certificate.
